The International Prison Chaplains Association (IPCA) Ghana remains committed to actively participating in global conferences organized by IPCA Worldwide. These gatherings provide valuable opportunities for networking, capacity building, and collaboration in advancing prison ministry across the world.
In line with this commitment, IPCA Ghana participated in the 8th IPCA Worldwide Conference, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 2 to 7, 2025. The conference brought together prison chaplains, ministry leaders, and partner organizations from various countries to share experiences, best practices, and strategies for effective prison ministry.
The conference featured plenary sessions, workshops, and discussions focused on strengthening prison chaplaincy, improving inmate rehabilitation, promoting restorative justice, and fostering collaboration among international partners. Participation in this global gathering provided IPCA Ghana with renewed insight, valuable partnerships, and strategic direction for advancing prison ministry locally.
IPCA Ghana members have also been among the most visible and active African chaplains at international prison ministry gatherings. A notable example was their participation in the World Conference held in Lublin, Poland, in late 2025, where IPCA Ghana’s Chairman, Rev. Steve Mensah, served as one of the lead facilitators.
This participation underscored the significant role of IPCA Ghana in the global prison ministry community and demonstrated the association’s commitment to contributing to international dialogue, leadership development, and the advancement of prison chaplaincy worldwide.
Through such engagements, IPCA Ghana continues to strengthen partnerships, share best practices, and represent Africa’s contribution to prison ministry on the global stage.
