Recognizing that there are a lot of young people in Prison, the leadership of IPCA GHANA saw the need to embark on a program to educate Senior High School students in the country to avoid prison.
The Anti-Crime Talks which was started in 2017 was stalled by the COVID 19 pandemic and it’s attendant restrictions. It was resumed in 2024 and given a fresh impetus by the renewed approval of the Ghana Education Service.
In a typical Talk , topics handled include ‘Staying Away from Illicit Drugs’, What Sends Young People to Prison and Why they Should be Avoided ‘ and ‘Maintaining A Good Character Whilst In School ‘.
More than a dozen Schools have been covered in the Greater Accra, Eastern and Central Regions of Ghana. Some of the Schools covered include St Augustine’s College, Mfantsipim School, Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, Legon and Accra Girls Senior High School.
The response and enthusiasm of both students and Teachers to the Talks have been very high which always reflect in the Questions and Answers segment.
